Joint Strategy for the recovering and protection of ecosystems damaged by Forests Fires

Southwestern Europe is threatened by forest fires and suffers of their consequences such as water pollution, infrastructures damages or crop production losses. EPyRIS provides a shared management strategy built by actors who are involved in forests management at different territorial levels. Thus, it allows to anticipate critical situations through vulnerability analysis, to optimize post fires emergency procedures and to disseminate methodologies based on previous experiences.
Management

To optimize pre and post fires emergency procedures.

Tools

A shared management strategy built by actors who are involved in forests management at different territorial levels.

Capacity building

To disseminate methodologies based on previous experiences and build capacities on the partners of the project.

Use of ICT in:

ANALYSIS

1

KNOW THE POTENTIAL VULNERABILITY TO THESE RISKS.
BRAINSTORM

2

EARLY DAMAGE DIAGNOSIS AFTER THE FIRE.
MONITORING PROJECT DATA

3

FAST DETAILED DIAGNOSIS ON OPTIMIZED FIELD SAMPLES WITH SATELLITE IMAGE SUPPORT.
TASK ANALYSIS

4

DETERMINE THE HYDROLOGICAL-EROSIVE RISK AND OTHERS.
WORKFLOW AUTOMATION

5

PRIORITIZE CRITICAL AREAS AND OPTIMAL INTERVENTION MEASURES.

Partners of the project

Funded by the Interreg Sudoe programme and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

Interreg Sudoe Programme is part of the European territorial cooperation objective known as Interreg, which is financed by one of the European structural funds: the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The current programming period covers from 2014 to 2020. Its two previous programme generations were Sudoe 2000-2006 and Sudoe 2007-2013.

The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) aims to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union by correcting imbalances between its regions.
